PATCIN 2025 REPORT:
Empowering Youths for a Safer and Digitally Driven Future
The Barrister Sam Otoboeze Foundation (BSOF), in partnership with the Ndukwe Kalu Foundation and Nsukka Microfinance Bank, has successfully concluded the PATCIN 2025 Youth Empowerment Program, a one-day intensive training aimed at addressing the root causes of insecurity through digital literacy, entrepreneurship, and crime-avoidance education.
Held at the Jucony Hotel Conference Hall, Nsukka, the event attracted over 350 applicants, from which 100 young men and women were selected due to financial and capacity constraints. The program recorded 119 total attendees, including guests, facilitators, and volunteers.
Building Youth Capacity for a Safer Society
PATCIN (Poverty Alleviation Training to Curb Insecurity in Nigeria) was designed to equip young people with skills that discourage crime, promote responsible digital behavior, and enhance economic independence through entrepreneurship and financial literacy. Participants were drawn from all Local Government Areas within Enugu state . The organizers ensured gender balance and social inclusion, featuring 8 hearing-impaired participants with a sign language interpreter, 1 mobility-impaired, and 2 vision-impaired participants, all of whom were adequately supported throughout the training.

The program reinforced BSOF’s mission to empower youths as agents of peace, innovation, and responsibility. By integrating technology, entrepreneurship, and civic education, PATCIN 2025 showcased how strategic training can transform communities and reduce vulnerability to crime and unemployment.
Voices of Gratitude
The Chairman of the PATCIN 2025 Planning Committee expressed deep appreciation to all sponsors, facilitators, and volunteers for their dedication and support. Special recognition was given to the decorator, who despite putting to bed a day before the event ensured her team completed the hall decoration, reflecting the selfless spirit behind PATCIN.
“This program stands as a beacon of hope for young people. It proves that with partnership, mentorship, and opportunity, our youths can rise above insecurity and unemployment,” the Chairman remarked.
The Barrister Sam Otoboeze Foundation (BSOF) expresses sincere appreciation to its co-sponsors; The Ndukwe Kalu Foundation and Nsukka Microfinance Bank for their invaluable partnership and financial support.
Looking Ahead
The Foundation plans to scale up future editions to accommodate more participants, expand coverage to rural communities, and establish a post-training mentorship and startup support network. BSOF calls on corporate organizations, NGOs, and public agencies to partner in sustaining the PATCIN initiative, so that more young Nigerians can be equipped with the skills and values that build a safer and more prosperous nation.

I got one of the best knowledge of a life time. At some point I kept telling myself that I am privileged to be in that program.
The guest speakers were power packed , every word they uttered spoke volume positively. So many opportunitiesforbthe youth but no right mentorship to harness their potential. BSOF really gave us everything on a platter of Gold, the knowledge and mentorship. Most importantly I learnt how to solve my needs rather than wants ,how to save and invest as well.50% for my needs 30% for Wants and 20% for saving and investment
I also learnt how to separate personal finance from Business Finance.
